October 9th, 2009 · No Comments

A national anti-abortion campaign has declared October 9 th National Pro-Life Cupcake Day. Called Cupcakes For Life , the organization is spreading their pro-life message by encouraging supporters to hand out 50,000,000 cupcakes across the country to represent the “50,000,000 children who weren’t allowed to be born” because of abortion. Sadly, this event happens to coincide with the decline of clinics and hospitals in Massachusetts with doctors that provide abortions. In a state so immediatel

Kourtney Kardashian: Pro-Life Poster Child?

August 24th, 2009 · No Comments

I will admit it: I’ve seen the name Kardashian on and off over the past few months, mostly in spam e-mails and spam comments to this blog, promising nude photos of Kim Kardashian. Then, over the past week, I started seeing many headlines (mostly from Catholic and pro-life websites) declaring that Kim’s older sister, Kourtney Kardashian, is “resisting pressure” to abort her baby. Until today, however, I knew virtually nothing about the Kardashian sisters, including that their father was Robert

Post-abortion healing: it is possible

March 14th, 2009 · No Comments

I attended a meeting of my parish pro-life group this morning, and our guest speaker was a wonderful lady named Caryn, who is the director of our local Abortion AfterCare-Healing ministry (an affiliate of the international Project Rachel and Rachel’s Vineyard ministries). She spoke about the after-effects of abortion, including Post-Abortion Syndrome (PAS) –a form of post-traumatic stress disorder. I’ve heard of how abortion affects women–and everybody close to them. But Caryn’s presenta

January 28th, 2009 · 7 Comments

jessalynn asked: It’s less than two weeks to the election. Pastors who have encouraged parishoners to vote for pro-life candidates and actively campaign for them are in risk of losing their tax-exempt status.
Do you care enough about the pro-life cause to look up the local campaign offices for pro-life candidate, call them up and volunteer [...]

Dallas Roe memorial events

January 17th, 2009 · No Comments

January 17, 2009 in news & events, personal, religion & spirituality | Tags: local events, bishops, pro-life, Church events I just got home from the city’s Roe memorial events. It was awesome. I’d say the march was at least twice as big as last year! That makes me happy. I hope it grows more every year!I met Julie and her husband Tom at the train station, and we rode downtown together. On one of the little electronic marquees on the train, there was an ad for Planned Parenthood, of all th

Still alive

January 9, 2009 in news & events, personal, religion & spirituality | Tags: Epiphany, holidays & feast days, local events, pro-life, random, update Just in a funk this week. Trying to get back into gear after 2 weeks of vacation.I did have a beautiful Epiphany. It’s one of my favorite days. It reinforces the truth that God really did live among us in the flesh, and that He came to draw the entire world to Himself. I’ve always been enchanted by the story of the Magi, the star, the three gif
