The Republican Party has finally figured out their new platform. They learned a while ago they can’t go around pushing for prayers in schools. Then they caught on even more. They can’t go around preaching pro-life and encouraging homophobia. Then they made the mistake of trying to win the most recent presidential election by pushing for more oil-drilling and warning us that terrorists are ready to pounce at any time. Unfortunately for the Republicans, people are slowly starting to figure

Image via Wikipedia Abortion was legalized in 1971 after the controversial Supreme Court decision which would come to be known as “Roe v. Wade” was made. Before Roe, abortion was regulated on the state level. There are those that argue, from a strictly Constitutional perspective, that “Roe v. Wade” was an over-reach by the Federal Government, and that the power to determine whether abortion should be legal or not should have been left to the individual states.

So, I’m next to Richard Saunders as he quickly goes through his arsenal of technology in order to document Dr Rachie’s presentation on quackery. If you enjoyed the presentation in Melbourne and Perth, you’ll be thrilled to know that it’s going down with the same level of acclaim - it’s a great summary of the work that the Australian skeptics are doing and the efforts she’s put into challenging anti-vaccination and the like. The ‘pro-choice’ claims of anti-vaxers just got a laugh. :p Check out her

By Hilary WhiteLANCASTER, UK September 4, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A document on the meaning of marriage by the former Catholic bishop of Lancaster will be the focus of a Vatican conference next week in Rome. In the document, Bishop Patrick O’Donohue, whose insistence that Catholic schools in his diocese return to a more meaningful Catholic identity earned him accusations of “fundamentalism” by parliamentarians, has been revealed in recent years as one of Britain’s staunchest episcopal defender

Almost two years ago, I wrote about a distressing and eye-opening book called The Girls Who Went Away , which is about the women who surrendered their children for adoption under coercion in the years before legal abortion and when single or unwed parenting was ostracized. Most of the women who surrendered their children were threatened, taunted, scolded and otherwise coerced by Catholic or otherwise Christian-affiliated adoption agencies and maternity homes. It’s an absolutely heartbreaking

Thanks to the valiant efforts of pro-lifers, like our friends Piero Tozzi and Austin Ruse at C-FAM, there is no language stating that abortion is a right of the disable, in fact the UN Treaty on the Disabled says the opposite. “Take the Disabilities Convention. The term was debated extensively, and it was clear throughout negotiations that “sexual and reproductive health” did not include abortion. This was recognized repeatedly by the Chairman, who said that no new rights — and specifically

Antonia Zerbisias linked to the anonymous abortionist’s account of why he practices his grizzly trade. All in an attempt to denounce the stigma surrounding it. In an update, she posted a musical video by Bif Naked called “Chotee”, which is about Bif’s own abortion. Antonia’s point is to get women to talk about their abortions and end the stigma. And what does Bif Naked repeat throughout the song? I hope you can forgive me my baby chotee, forgive me What a ringing endorsement of a

A goldmine of details. Of new abortionists he says: Sometimes the young ones ask to come in for an afternoon so they can learn to make a little money while their careers get started — they think it’s as simple as changing a tire. In other words, they’re in and out. Get a load of his wife, a Latina who worked as an abortionist in Barcelona: When I was aborting in Spain, I finished the abortion to a young woman, first trimester. When I finish this procedure, she sit on the table, see m

Fundamentalism is the Problem I’m Lutheran, Martin Luther was the original Protestant Fundamentalist (Helped also by John Wesley in England), the murdered Pro Choice physician was at a Lutheran Church when he was shot. Michelle Bachman is also a Lutheran (we are in different Synods though). I don’t really think literal interpretations of scripture are wrong, but hard line fundamentalism would seem to lead to excesses? Is a Church that is entirely right wing, Christian
