His latest stunt is to call for the burning of effigies of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi on Halloween. He claims this is in the great American tradition. That’s good, because it goes completely against the Christian tradition. Besides, being a Catholic for only five minutes, he clearly would not understand the profound anti-Catholic undertones of burning effigies around this date. Honestly, is Terry really trying to push more and more people into the pro-choice column? It would seem so. And it mak

NBC’s venerable crime procedural, “Law & Order,” has endured a fair amount of deserved criticism around here lately. Big Hollywood’s thoughtful critiques of the show’s leftward slide and irksome predictability are, sadly, valid. Like many L&O fans, I’ve been forced to admit that recent seasons have been quite disappointing. The word “cancellation” has cropped up in my mind more than once. That being said, this season has been refreshingly solid. Aside from the atrocious “Let’s

Take this with more than a grain of salt, since the Club for Growth supports him, but in the latest poll by the Club for Growth Doug Hoffman, the pro-life Conservative Party candidate in the special election in the New York 23rd Congressional District endorsed by Sarah Palin and other Republican Party luminaries, leads with 31.3% of the vote to 27% for Bill Owens the Democrat and 19.7% for the pro-abort leftist Republican Dede Scozzafava., with 22% undivided. One of many good reasons wh

The song is called Magnificent by the musical group U2. It was a minor hit in both the United Kingdom and the United States in A.D. 2009 (and a major hit in Greece). Some entrepreneurial YouTuber recreated the music video and turned it into a pretty decent contemporary ‘Christian’ music video. The music video now celebrates the Triune God , the Eucharist , of course the love of God all coupled within a strong Pro-Life message. There’s even a guest appearance of His Holiness, Pope Bene

There are a few things that abortion advocates forget when discussing the procedure. One of them is “what is the unborn?” As Greg Koukl has said, if the unborn is not a human being, no justification is necessary. If the unborn is a human being, no justification is enough. Another issue abortion advocates typically scoot over is accurately describing just what an abortion is. Some merely state, “women should have the right to choose…” Well, choose what? Describe the choice you want wo

“In its 1972 debut issue, Ms. Magazine ran a bold petition in which 53 well-known U.S. women declared that they had undergone abortions—despite state laws rendering the procedure illegal. These women were following the example of a 1971 manifesto signed by 343 prominent French women, who also had declared they had abortions,” according to a recent appeal launched by Ms. Magazine, an appeal once again asking women to put their faces back into the abortion issue. Those women’s names and pictures in

The following video is a clip of a debate on abortion at McGill University. Take special note at what starts to happen at around the 1 minute mark when pro-lifer Jo Ruba gets up to make his opening statement. Aah, yes. The new tolerance shows its fangs. Truly ironic, isn’t it? For some folks, free speech only applies to those views of which they already approve. I hope the protesters realize they didn’t do the pro-choice case any favors. If I was a pro-choicer, I’d be hissing a

The seniors I teach are embarking on their research paper this week. For many of them, it’s “freak out” time. It’s an enjoyable time for me, though, for most of the students choose interesting topics, many of which I’m quite familiar with. Today, a surprising number of girls chose abortion, for instance. All of them except one were arguing for the pro-life position, and the one girl that wasn’t solidly in that camp was leaning that way. She was pro-choice with pro-life intuitions (most gir
