The Greatest Grassroots Movement of Our Times

October 22nd, 2009 · No Comments

When I received a letter from Dr. Wanda Franz telling me about the “Proudly Pro-Life Award,” I was, quite simply, overcome with emotion. There is no honor or award that could mean more to me than one from my fellow members of what my friend the late Richard John Neuhaus always called “the greatest grassroots movement of our times.” At the same time, I can’t help but be humbled at the thought of the great men and women to whom you have given this honor in the past. And so I know you will unders

Roundup: "Pro-Lifers" Defend Kyl; Women’s Groups Oppose Expansion of Catholic Hospital in Maryland’s Largest County

October 14th, 2009 · No Comments

Lifesite News Bends Over Backward to Defend Kyl’s Remarks on Maternity Care In the category of “gimme a break,” LifeSite News today is bending over backwards to do 3 things: defend Senator Kyl’s recent self-revelatory comment about maternity care (i.e. “I don’t need maternity care) and paint him as “concerned about women;” twist the maternity care debate into a “pro-life” versus “pro-choice” debate and in doing so proving once again that the woman in the equation is just null.

With all the twists and turns in the health care debate, we keep hearing the question: what’s next? So I wanted to take a minute and sketch out for you what we know from our meetings here in the Nation’s Capital and on the Hill. Abortion is violence…says abortionist

October 7th, 2009 · No Comments

Quoting from The abortioneers , which I featured yesterday . Really, you should read the whole thing. There’s too much to quote. There is violence in abortion, especially in second trimester procedures. Certain moments make this particularly apparent, as another story from my own experience shows. As a third-year resident I spent many days in our hospital abortion clinic. The last patient I saw one day was 23 weeks pregnant. I performed an uncomplicated D&E; procedure. Dutifully, I went

I work for Planned Parenthood, and as the largest reproductive health care provider and advocate in the country, we know lots of things to be true. Early detection of STDs
