…we spent tonight holding hopeful vigils. Hoping for a human being to come out of the fight for his life as a victor, not a tragic icon. Hoping for a man who’d be free to breathe as anonymously or as publicly as he wanted, just as long as he kept of breathing. We were thoroughly pro-life, with both in terms of our wishes for Matthew, and in regards to the suddenly resurfaced fears we now had for all of our LGBT brothers and sisters.
